Elizabeth is interested in craft, and the role that skills based learning plays in the deepening of artistic language. The notion of form following function and the material/practical establishing the spiritual in part informs Elizabeth’s ongoing research and experiments in intuitive learning from the material world.

These interests informed a period of work with pebble mosaic artist Maggy Howarth. Maggy developed a unique method of making called the pre cast technique through trial and error, and her use of natural materials, particularly quartzes aligned with Elizabeths body of work entitled Earthworks which explores the science and mysticism of Sand.

From December 2021 - January 2024 Elizabeth was awarded a number of design commissions undertaken by the studio of Maggy Howarth, including designs for 2 large mosaics for HM King Charles and the design and project management of the MHS garden and centrepiece mosaic at RHS Chelsea 2023.
